Alcala Development was the third of 4 developments inside Whispering Palms in Rancho Santa Fe. Bill
Davidson of Davidson Properties designed and built the development.
Here is an article from the Los Angeles Times November 2nd, 1986 article about Alcala and its design:
“Alcala de Rancho Santa Fe, a luxury attached-home development by Davidson Communities, dominated the 1986 San Diego SAM Awards competition by winning the Grand Award and several others in the 12th annual presentation at San Diego’s Town & Country Hotel.
Designed by Krommenhoek & McKeown, the Alcala project in Rancho Santa Fe also won the Best Design for Attached Housing over $150,000, Best Sales Office Between $25,000 and $45,000, Best Model Landscaping for an Attached Product, Best Logo Design; Best

I have a tab developed so that you can look directly at all 4 floorplans. One is a single level but the rest are two levels. I love the Viola plan because it has over 2,500 square feet and two dual masters upstairs. Below is a collection of interior units that I have sold or rented.
Most units in Alcala have been remodeled since their original construction in the late 1980’s. However, on occasion you can find one in original condition and remodel it to your own liking!
